We’ve all experienced projects where the final product doesn’t quite meet expectations—when what was delivered falls far short of what was envisioned. But beyond underwhelming features lies a more critical failure: when a solution is fundamentally unsafe, unstable, or unscalable.
In this engaging session, Beyond the Features: Non-Functional Requirements as Delivery Superpowers, Briana Ertanin takes us behind the scenes of real-world initiatives that failed due to overlooked non-functional requirements (NFRs)—things like security, capacity, robustness, and accessibility.
We’ll look at how poor attention to these elements—despite flashy features—can make or break a solution. And most importantly, we’ll examine how strong business analysis practices can identify and resolve these issues early. This session aligns with Chapter 7 of the BABOK (Requirements Analysis and Design Definition) and will be valuable for business analysts, product owners, and delivery professionals alike.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the non-functional requirements definition and analysis
- An NFR framework as a way to future-proof your delivery
- Understand how to highlight NFR importance to your stakeholders
