The Early Career BA Circle is a space for those stepping into business analysis or building momentum in their first few years, whether you're seeking your first role, already working as a BA and looking to level up, or transitioning from another path.

Registrations are mandatory. No walk-ins for this event. Strictly for students, graduates, and Junior BAs with less than 3 years of experience.

About the Event

Breaking into a Business Analyst role, or navigating through the initial years, is hard. That's why we're excited to host Speed Mentoring for the Early Career BA Circle in Melbourne.

Speed Mentoring

This 1.5-hour, high-impact speed mentoring session is designed for early-career Business Analysts, including those with 1-3 years' experience, and career transitioners who want practical direction on breaking into the BA job market, sharpening how they operate day-to-day, and navigating their early career growth.

You'll rotate through 5 small-group conversations of 10 minutes each with experienced Senior Business Analysts from a range of industries, gaining direct, unfiltered insights into what actually matters in the BA job market and in the role itself. No generic advice or theory, just practical, industry-specific guidance you can act on immediately.

By the end of this session, you'll have had the chance to ask questions and gain insight on:

  • How the BA role differs across industries.
  • The exact knowledge required to break into, or move up within, your target role.
  • Which tools, frameworks, and methodologies are non-negotiable at your stage.
  • Realistic entry pathways into different industries, and realistic paths to progression once you're in.
  • How to manage stakeholders with more confidence and less friction.
  • How to ask the right questions and position yourself with confidence, whether you're interviewing or angling for your next opportunity.

What's Included:

  • Access to experienced Senior Business Analysts.
  • Structured attendee question sheet to guide conversations.
  • Multiple small-group rotations across Senior BA Mentors.
  • Open networking opportunity at the end.
  • Pizza and drinks provided.

Key Takeaways:

  • A clear direction to kickstart or accelerate your BA journey, aligned with your goals.
  • Specific topics, tools, and concepts to start learning or refining immediately.
  • Insider insights that are not available on job descriptions or LinkedIn.
  • Real examples of how experienced BAs broke into their industries and levelled up once inside.
  • New professional connections, including senior BAs, to support your journey.

Why You Should Attend:

  • You're tired of vague career advice and want real answers.
  • You don't know which roles to target, or which direction to grow into, as a BA.
  • You want to accelerate your BA career with focused direction, whether that's landing your first role or your next one.
  • You value direct access to professionals who've already done it, including the stretch from junior to senior.
  • You want to build a senior network early, not scramble for one later.
  • You want to network with purpose, not randomly.

If you want to stop guessing and start targeting your BA career strategically, whether you're trying to get in or trying to level up, this session will give you the clarity you need.
