About the event
Business Architecture, like other promising methods from our past, is ripe with opportunity — but it comes with significant risk if we do not understand what we are doing. For organisations to connect their strategic aspirations through to optimal plans and solutions, and to avoid the unintended consequences of change, we need trusted guidance on the journey. That means avoiding misleading advice from those with vested interests or a dogmatic mindset. Inflexible methodology seems more in vogue than practicality. We must be nimble and do what makes sense.

Roger Burlton, a pioneer in applying pragmatic Business Architecture in real-world enterprises, will take us through a journey of dashed hopes and realistic alternatives that can be trusted to deliver. He will focus on ways of working that adapt to each organisation’s particular situation — with its unique pressures, expectations, maturity, resistance, readiness, people, opportunities, and risks. You can expect some controversy, so come ready to join in a lively discussion.
- Why are we doing Business Architecture in the first place?
- What are the potholes to be aware of?
- What works?
- How do we talk about it — and change some intransigent minds?
